Synchronized Squares Quilt Along

So for my first quilt along, I chose the Summer House fabric line. I love the colors and bold patterns!!

Here are my 7.5 inch squares ready to go, and a pile of lovely 2.5 inch leftover pieces which are going to be sewn together for a scrappy binding.

Here are the fabrics I am thinking of using on the backing of the quilt...but yardage isn't available until next month. It's going to be my first pieced back, can't wait to see how that works out...

Blue Squares

Here's a throw quilt I've been working on for my husband. He's tall, so it's kind of long so his toes don't get cold! :) I love all the shades and variations of blue and gray...it will go well in our Penn State-themed basement!

Hello!

Welcome to my first blog post! I am mom to one adorable little girl, wife to a loving husband, full time teacher, and director of a high school musical. I also love tap dancing and I just finished grad school. I learned how to sew making costumes for the musicals when I was in high school, and I learned to quilt when I was on maternity leave in 2007. I love my hectic life, but I also love my peaceful escape...quilting!

I don't know many other quilters, but I like reading quilting blogs for information, inspiration, and ideas. I'm hoping to post pictures of some quilts I've made, and update with quilts in progress.
